Pam, yes, a female doing the Family Finder will get both sides of her DNA. For those who want the gory details, Family Finder is the autosomal DNA. What that means is a person (male or female) gets 50% of their DNA from their parents, 25% from each grandparent, 12.5% from each great, and so on.
Y-DNA is a sex chromosome and is what makes a man a man. So a male takes that test. mtDNA is passed down from a mother to all her children. So either a male or female can take that test, but a male does not pass mtDNA down to his offspring. Only the women do.
