Mary and all,
When using the Chromosome Browser, there is a selection in the top left side, right below the Chromosome
Browser Tutorial which says "Compare List" where you can choose either 1+, 3+, 5+ or 10+ cM.
Make sure you choose 1+ to see the tiniest common segments.
For my father's DNA, there are no fewer than 5 common DNA segments out of all matches. Fil Simas and A. Rose are the most with 21 and 20 respectively.
For all 54 matches I have for myself, the fewest is also 5 common segments.
So I think it's a question of your settings. It might be set for 5+ cM because that's the default setting they start you with.

I don't think I've looked at all my matches in the browser yet but I find it interesting that I have so far found very few people with more than one shared segment. And of those, we have only two shared segments.
I just thought that was "normal"!
