Dolores, I am also searching for de Mello's in Gloucester. I believe that my ggrandmother Florence Jones b. 1899 d.1949 of Gloucester was the daughter of a Mary de Mello who was born in St. Michael.
>From my research I have Mary married twice once to my ggrandfather George J Jones of Gloucester and later to Paul Young. Passing as Mary Young in Gloucester in 1945. I have her parents as Manuel Joseph Mello and Mary Ellen both as far as I know from the Azores. I think we may be researching the same family. I'm at a stalemate at the moment.
