Pam, I don't know about the eye and my mom doesn't know either, but I'll 
ask my grandmother tomorrow and ask her, I can tell you was born and died 
in the S. Dartmouth New Bedford area. He was a house painter, and do not 
believe he married or had kids, he died in his 60's
