The records for Sao Mateus are online at the Center for Knowledge of the
Azores site.  In Portuguese, that's Centro de Conhecimento dos Acores.  We
just call it the CCA site.

Click on the white circle on the south side of Terceira (the finger tip
must be touching that little dot - not the palm of the hand).  On the next
screen, you will click the drop down for freguesia and pick Sao Mateus.
Then pick baptisms and the date range and start looking.

If you don't "read" Portuguese you can learn. Probably 3/4 of this list are
non-native speakers and many of us have learned to "read."  There's a link
