I'm not sure what happened to my reply from yesterday, however, what I said was correct; I "meant" Arcanjo Sao Miguel. As you know, half of my family is from Ponta Garca, and, the other half is from Ribeira Quente. Previously, when there were ceremonies held in Apostolo Sao Paulo (RQ) while it was an ermida, the record referred to Nossa Senhora da Piedade, as the Paroquia which ASP was subordinate to - until I found other records that referred to ASM... Granted that these records were quite early in the 17th century - possibly before NSdP was actually built, and, that may account for the discrepancy.
