There are Rodovalhos in S. Miguel before that, but remember, vital records, in 
most parishes, do not go back that far. RR has a marriage in 1530, and a will 
in 1534 for Rodovalho descendants in S. Miguel.

I suppose the 1584 date is what you can find now in records. If that is when 
they arrived, then I suppose they did come over from Terceira, because it's at 
least another 100 years older on Terceira.

I have a line from Pico and one from Terceira, but haven't yet hooked them up 
to the tronco.
