They were from Ponta Garca. I was hoping to find his family on the 1890 census because I wanted to make a stronger connection between a son, Francisco (born in Hawaii) that they had kind of late in life. On the 1900 fed census Francisco is 15 years old with 65 year old parents. I just need to order Francisco's death record and hopefuly that will indicate his parents, Joao de Medeiros Jardim and Maria Roza Botelho.,,this family emigrated from the Azores in 1883, SS Abergeldie. There children were Manuel, Maria and Joao...and later, Francisco (unconfirmed). I'm researching this particular family because Francisco's daughter, Margaret, married into my family.
