I don't know where your research is headed, but, according to mine, Mariano Ignacio de Medeiros' father was Joao Ignacio de Medeiros, and Joao's father was Ignacio de Lima. The Medeiros came from Joao's mother (Maria de Medeiros Pimentel Tavares). Ignacio was the son of Antonio de Lima x Josefa de Resendes. This is the famed Lima family. They link up w/ many of the old families of Ponta Garca.
