I think others would tell you the name was Corvelo/Corvello and that name is found on Flores.
It's also on Terceira, but probably unrelated at least until you get back to the 1500s. That's impossible on Flores.

I know there are a lot of experts on here so I thought I'd put out something on one of my brick walls. I am having trouble locating records one set of my paternal Great Grandparents. The lived and died in Siskiyou County, Ca and are buried in the Yreka Catholic Cemetery. I think they married in that area in 2-13-1879. Unfortunately that is all I know. Family history indicates my Great Grandfather was born bet 1832-1837 in Flores, Acores but I don't know town. His wife Maria Jesintia Rosa was supposedly born 5-18-1864 in Graciosa, Acores and I don't have town there either. I figure the surname probably was not Crovelle but not sure. I have it spelled Crovell, Crovello and Crovel.--I can't find their marriage record either, but I'm pretty sure they married in Siskiyou County, Ca in Hawkinsville, Hornbrook or Yreka area.Anyhow, I'm mainly just wondering if any of you have researched Flores or Graciosa and may have seen anything on either or these names? Or have suggestions for where else to look?I've done genealogy for a while but quit about 7 years ago so I'm now having to get myself retrained.Thanks.Edna
