Hi Dave My great grandfather was Manuel Rosa Maciel from Pico, born in 1821. My grandfather (whom I never knew), Antonio Rosa Maciel, was born in San Mateus, Pico on Nov. 13, 1860. I'm wondering how common the name "Maciel" is or was. I'm going to the Azores in June and hope to find kinfolk there. I am practically computer illiterate, which is surely a handicap.
