Sam, your quest will probably be made shorter if you consider that "Matriz: is the term for the "Mother" parish in any given area. However, you're not out of the woods yet. Since you don't know which* Concelho or (Council).*Again you luck out - there are only two Concelhos on the island of Sao Jorge. Only one, Calheta, has the Matriz de Santa Catarina - or, you could have cheated, as I did, and searched google :)
