Sorry I wasn't clear.

Transcription field: A field where you can enter the transcribe information
that keeps it connected with the document.  Some have a description field which
isn't really meant for adding the transcription.

I own the current version of Family Tree Maker. FTM is user friendly good
program, but limited (godparents and witness have to be added in comments).
I've out  grown it.  Also, once my tree went past 2000 individual it started
having hiccups, freezing, stop working and closing.

I was looking at the scrambled data, trying to see if I could fix it or just
rebuild.  I'm finding the parish birth, marriage and deaths records are now
attached to other people or not connected to anyone.  If no surname was entered
it move the given name to the surname field.  It's going to be faster and
easier to just rebuild.  Thankfully, I saved all my research and data in
different forms so it will just take time to get everything back to where it
was.

I just want to avoid doing this again and find a program that meets my needs.

I've down loaded the 30 day trial of TMG and was just looking at Legacy
Reviews.  RootsMagic doesn't import on-line sources or let you renumber people.

Maria GS1138,

It would help to know which program you are leaving so you don't get
recommendations for that one.  And I'm assuming you are a PC user.

Here's your list and what I know:
Transcription field for records in another language
I don't know what you mean by this.  You want your software program to
translate records for you?  None of them do that.  You want the program to say
"Nome" "Naseu" etc?  None of them do that YET.  Legacy is the closest to being
completed.  Then RootMagic will in a couple of years and The Master Genealogist
or TMG is supposed to be "working on it."  However, in TMG, you can kinda make
your own in a way.

Godparents fields:  You can create one in Legacy (I think) if it's not standard
& TMG has Godparents for sure.
Witness fields: Standard in TMG.  I think you can create one in Legacy if it's
not standard.
Website creation:  Included in Legacy.  With TMG you have to buy a supplemental
program, Second Site.
DNA results (not a must have): TMG & Legacy.

Someone who uses RootsMagic (like Mel or someone else) can speak to that
program.  I don't know it that well.  Likewise for Family Tree Maker.  But like
I said, if we knew which program you were coming from, then we can skip that
whole part.

If you wind up being stuck between 2 programs, I suggest you download the free
trial version and play around with them until you make up your mind.
Legacy:  www.legacyfamilytree.com   Their standard edition is free (Deluxe has
100 more bells and whistles).
RootsMagic: www.rootsmagic.com/essentials   Their Essentials is free.  I'm
guessing their regular one has about 100 more bells and whistles.
The Master Genealogist: www.whollygenes.com   Full program free to try for 30
days and then it locks you out.
Family Tree Maker:  No free version.  They suggest you play with the Trees on
Ancestry.com, but to me, that's no where near the FTM program.
