I am not sure of all your needs, but I am a big fan of RootsMagic. I used
FamilyOrigins for many years, and RootsMagic is the evolution of that. I
never did like FTM and don't really see them as comparable.

One thing I like about it is the ability to make unlimited custom fields.
I created my own Godparents field as well as many others that suit my own
needs.

RootsMagic does have a website creation tool, though I have never used it.

I have RootsMagic 5. I haven't had DNA done, but I check. This version
does have a DNA transcription screen.

I am not sure about transcription fields with attached documents. I don't
add transcriptions to my database (my arthritic hands won't let me do that
much typing).

I lost all my media file connections when I got my new computer. So I
uploaded a photo to see what fields were present. There is are caption,
description box, date, reference number, and tag fields. The description
box looks like it could hold several lines.

My suggestion is to download the trial versions of various software then
see which one you like. I have a strong data input background and one
reason I picked RootsMagic is because I liked the input screens. Different
people have different needs. Play with the software and find which one you
are comfortable with. Most have free trials on their websites.
