You need to find out the file size by going to the folder where Legacy stores the Data; the folder name is usually “Data” and it is in the “LegacyFamilyTree” folder. If you used the default locations, the files are in the Documents folder in Windows. If you do exceed the limit, you may have to split your database into smaller “branches.”
The file ends with the extension “.fdb.” That is what determines whether you have exceeded the file size limit. If you start looking at other programs, be sure to find out what the file size limitations are or you will run into similar problems. I get and error and can't get rid of it until i do a file repair i back up my file and check if the last person i added is there, as days go by i'm looking for other data i have put in and it is all missing, looking for something better than Legacy that can handle my big File any suggestion, I tried TMG takes to long to upload my file and to search, Family tree maker is the same.
