Don M, You are a fast learner!
Once you get the gist of these, you'll only be extracting the pertinent information. If you are new to "reading" the records, go back and find Antonio's siblings. You are very lucky, as you are in Arrifes and that priest has beautiful handwriting. Go to Dec of 1892 and keep going forward, looking for the siblings. Let your eyes focus about half way down for the filho legitimato (or with the "a" if female). When I teach the class on how to "read" the records, I tell people to look for the slanted longer letters - the ones where they loop up tall or hang down low. In this case, for the word "filho" you'll want your eye to catch f, l, h of filho. And you'll want your eye to catch l, g, t of "legitimato." Once you've worked your way forward and go 4 or 5 years with no babies, go back to Antonio and work backwards (9 months before March is June 1891). You can post the record extracts, for example, saying you found Maria, but you can't read the date, in May 1888, daughter of _____ and ______, but you can't read the paternal grands, for example. You won't need to type it out line by line anymore. When you get back to about 1860, the records will change format. The good: The parents' name are on top now. The bad: The writing (paleography/penmanship) is usually way worse! Good luck!
