Hi Cheri, I don't know if I got wrong the question of Bob Camacho, but I 
think what he would like to know (and me too) is where they passports are 
stored.
I think for each passport issued and delivered to a certain person there is 
a copy retained by certain authority.  I saw a huge archive of passports in 
Torre do Tombo that mainly cover exits from the port of Lisbon 
(unfortunately several years of archives were lost - burned -  during the 
conflicts for Republic in 1910).

I would like to know if the archives for passports from people leaving 
Terceira are in some archive, maybe in  ARQUIVO DISTRITAL ?
