Good afternoon everyone - I wanted to add my thanks to growing list of people who appreciated the time and attention that Cheri, Joao and Rosemarie gave to all of us at the conference. It was sort of a last minute decision for me to attend, but I'm so happy I decided to go. I learned so much from the three of you, and have gained a lot of confidence in my reading of old Portuguese records (at least the legible ones....). I found some articles in the Azores history books at the Family Research Center that contained info that I would not have found otherwise, and really appreciated the lectures that described the tools we can use for research. I feel like I was digging with a teaspoon before, and now I have a shovel! I came home with a binder full of hints and clues, and now can begin working on those. If any of the members are ever on the fence about attending this conference in the future - I HIGHLY recommend it.
