Hi Mary, I am not sure if there is any sort of connection, but I thought I would share the info I have in my tree. I have a Matias F. Evangelho married to a Domingas Pereira. I do not have birth or death dates for either. They had a daughter, Beatriz Maciel, who died in 1712. She was married to Manuel da Costa Goulart Gigante. He was born in 1683. He died 5 February 1731 in Sao Mateus, Pico. I am wondering if they had other children and that one of them might have been Domingos Pereira Evangelho, the name you mentioned in your query. Have you had your DNA tested? We might discover if we are a match that way. Please keep me in mind if you find any information and I will do the same. cents for what its worth (assuming you won't mind.) If you look at line four
you'll see the word "onze" meaning eleven. It's a bit confusing as the
abbreviated word freguesia on line 3 shows the "g" coming down into the fourth
line. After seeing this, I also went back to my book "Evoluçao Demográfica de
Trés Paróquias do Sul do Pico" and then to the CITCEM website to double check
the book. Both of these sources also show the eleventh as the date. Word of
caution, CITCEM is based on the book so its not a second independent source.

you ever want to compare notes, let me know. I might be able to help. Also, I
have a considerable number of ancestors from neighboring Candelaria, where I've

I found a date of marriage in another tree as 1 NOV 1765, Sao Matus, Pico. I
am trying to confirm through CCA. I found the following record, but it is one
of those "hard to read" ones, so I wanted to check in and see if anyone can
tell if this is even the right record. If so, I will try to translate the rest
myself - I need the practice :-) But, I could use your help confirming if
this is even the right one.
