Hi Bill,

My understanding of the term "filha/o familias" is that it denotes someone 
who has not yet reached their majority and still dependent on their 
family-- i.e., not of age and/or not yet married. I think that usually, 
it's followed by the head of family's name, so you're right in assuming 
that there's some info missing.  I think (must check) the age of majority 
was around 25.  Perhaps someone else can confirm or correct that.

We often omit to state what we assume everyone knows, so perhaps Dona Maria 
Angelina was a daughter of the leading family in the area?
