Liz, You should probably do both. If it's not in your budget at the moment, do one and then upgrade his DNA at the next sale. Yes, your distant matches will be different on Family Finder.
If I can get 5 people ordering Family Finder, I would say start there. The Italian projects don't push Family Finder as much, so you won't get as many Italian matches at this time.
