I have gone over 10 years each way in searching. On the wife's side I have found her parents information, but not on the husbands side. I can try searching for the husbands parents wedding information again.
I had been using NEPS as a guide, but it's still been difficult to find. Plus there are different towns with the same people but mixed information. I have to look at Capelo and Praia do Norte and a lot of the times there is contradicting information on people. I will keep my eye out for siblings too and see if that helps.
