You can't (to my knowledge).

Because we are all on different computers of different ages, it's best to
avoid bolding, underlining, etc. And colors and graphics. They may not
display correctly on the other end (Eliseu's graphic always comes out as
the letter "J" on my end. I don't know what graphic he tries to put there,
but it doesn't display in Windows 8 or in Gmail, I don't know which). You
can still use the symbols for smileys, as I believe those come through :)

I use caps if I need something bolded. I use the asterisk if I need
something italicized. Example: I *think* he said he wanted to go NOW.
