  In Mainline Christine Theology it is held that only one baptism is valid. The 
Council of Trent defined a dogma that it is forbidden to baptize a person 
already baptized.However, if the baptism is in doubt, a "conditional " baptism 
may be performed.Most likely the term "sub conditione" refers to a conditional 
baptism. The Roman Catholic Church recognizes the baptism of other Christian 
Churches but if there is doubt a conditional baptism may be done. George
