That makes a little more sense, Linda, and looks closer to what looks like
Garcia on another granddaughter’s baptismal entry. Tereza is looking pretty
good as well. JR seems to agree as well and all the other info is what I
could read so thanks for the confirmation!

>From your experience, would a marriage entry have more information on a
parent’s time living in a village. In reading Antonio’s sister’s marriage
entry (Alexandrina and her husband Joao Carvalho) I thought I read
something about the mother residing some 30 years in Bretanha. I’ll include
the links here if you care to take a look —>

I really want to follow them into the mainland because I’m wondering if
they are my Jewish connection - it’s just a hunch but I’m willing to track
it down.

Thanks again for the help!

Hi Joanne,

Right side, Top entry

I think it looks like Andre Gracia, which is a variant of Garcia, if I
understand rightly. If you look at the "C" in "nasces" (right after
Maria's last name), it's the same as in "Gracia". The "a" looks like an
"o" to me too, but I'm fairly sure it's an "a".

As for Maria's last name, at first I couldn't make it out at all, but then
it snapped into being: "Tereza". I could easily still be wrong, so others
should weigh in too!

hope that helps,

:)
