I am very new to reading and translating Portuguese. I am hoping someone can help me fill in the blanks on this record. It is the record of my 1st cousin, 3 times removed. I believe the record states: Emilia, legitimate daughter of Jose Silveira Homem and his wife Angelica Luiza. The granddaughter's paternal grandparents are Jose Silveira Homem and his wife Maria Joaquina, both deceased; maternal [granddaughter] of Jose Pereira, deceased, and his wife Ana Bernarda, natives of this parish of Sao Mateus of Pico. I can't read the next word/words; I think the doc says something about her birth on the 3rd of May, 1837 I can't read the end of the line after the 1837 date or the next few lines until we get to Emilia's Godfather Godfather Manuel Homem Goularte of this parish and her Godmother Antonia Maria Carlota, single, a resident of Candeleria. I can't read the rest about Alexandrina. I would really love to hear what I am doing correctly and incorrectly. Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to take the time to help.
