Carmen, you need to go to Kathy Cardoza's website: AzoresGenWeb (just google it) and read the articles about names, how to to Portuguese Research, etc. The Portuguese are not like the Spaniards with their naming, they could take whatever they wanted; sometimes the godparent, sometimes the grandparent, sometimes the greatgrandparent!
