I called this morning, and the church secretary, Tammy, said the St. John books are there. She won't photocopy or take a picture of the book but will issue a paper certificate. I told her the certificate doesn't have a blank for the freguesia/village that the bride and groom are from. She said to state that in an email to her and she'll add it in. So now I play "wait and see." At least we have confirmation that the books are there as of January 2017.
