I don't have much information on my great grandparents but I have found some records that I believe are them based on what information I do have. I guess I'm asking, how do you know if the record that you are looking at is what you are looking for?
Ex. My great father is Julio Coelho born Feb. 7, 1983 in Madeira, married Theresa Teixeira when they came to the US. I don't know their parents names for certain, anyone that would know their names or more info has since passed. I have found a few records on different sites with their names Marriage record https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-91GY-9K6?mode=g&i=601&cc=1928860 This puts his parents names as Francisco and Urbana Souza, says they lived at 23 First Street in Lowell, MA but no one knows this address. Baptism record http://abm.madeira.gov.pt/pesquisa/baptismo/index.php?filho=&pai=Francisco&mae=Urbana&local=&data=&livro = This shows Julio was born to Francisco and Urbana, who had 10 kids total, Julio's baptism was Mar. 12, 1893 No one in my family knows about any of his brothers or sisters or that there were this many kids in his family How do I decide if this is the family/ancestor that I'm looking for? I'm new to this research and what my parents, aunts and uncles know is very limited as no one talked much about it back in their days and their parents passed young. Thank you for any incite you can give. Katie -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Azores Genealogy" group.
