Margaret, I personally read most of the groups threads. Every once in a while though, I do miss stuff. However, if someone put one of my main research islands in the subject line, you can bet that I would open it because it would be of higher relevance to me as a researcher. Even though I plan on doing this in the future with my messages, it does not mean that I am going to stop reading the threads about islands like Sao Miguel (where I dont have any lineage)... I think that those of us who consistently read the messages will continue to do so regardless. It can still be interesting for all of us - wether our family was on a certain island, or not. Sometimes you can jump in with an idea even though you may not have relatives there ~ but the point stands that this system would be greatly beneficial for the sake of organizing the massive quantities of email that we receive from this group.
