Searches are based on subject heading first, so I think we should stick to actual subject, such as names, translation, history, passports, etc. Then if you think it may be beneficial, you can add hyphen followed by your village/island. ex. Translation of Medeiros record, 1880 - Achada, Sao Miguel.
The fact is as we progress in research we become less and less interested in matters not related to our areas of research. But as Margaret pointed out, the purpose of the list is for people to get help no matter their area of research. We even help people doing Madeira research whenever possible.
