I upgraded. You can install FTM 2014 without deinstalling Ver 16. They run
independently and you can run both at same time. Just save your files to
your computer or flash drive. Then install 2014. Go to import and select
files from your flash drive.
I much prefer Ver. 16. Much better interface and easier to navigate. I am
running Ver 16, though it is somewhat slower.

Go to windows button and click, click Computer on right side, click system
properties, now look under system properties and it will show your "system
type". It is probably 32 bit operating system. If it is 64 bit, this will
be the source of any problems because Ver. 16 was designed to run on 32 bit
system. However, I still use it anyway.

As long as you can saving your files in at least two places; say your
computer and a flashdrive; Two flash drives if you really want to be safe.
Two 4 gig flashdrives is all you need and they are fairly cheap.
