This has been a 24 7 news story here in Auburn, and the communities are happy he is now behind bars. The Capture using DNA and GEDMatch to locate a living relative, who da thought - GEDMatch is a PUBLIC sight, so NO DNA Company compromised the "privacy" of their testers. I do wonder now, if any of the GEDMatch members will stay, or pull their Kits, and if it will make others think twice before loading their data. The Kits I manage will stay on, their owners would be doing their Happy Dance to know that their DNA was being used to get the Bad Guys off the streets. I do hope that for the sake of the match, that his or her "privacy" be kept our of the news.
