Gloria, you really need to do more research in the USA, naturalization if they/either one became a citizen, Alien records if not, baptisms of the children may have the home village. As Cheri and others have said over the years, Sao Miguel is a big island and has many villages. You did say they married in Mass. so I'm surprised that the civil and church record did not have the home village.
