Try Joao Chalveiro. It does look like Chalvieiro. In Ponta Garca, there is 
a locale called Calvario, which is not the same of course. Her parents were 
Joao Jacinto and Anna Theresa [de Jesus], and none of their married 
children used a proper surname. So perhaps Joao adopted a nickname.
