Joseph, you're welcome. Starting with the bottom link and the 'supposed' grandparents of Maria. There indeed is a couple by the name of Elias do Rego and Maria Jacinta but their marriage date is in 1818 while Escolastica was born/exposta in 1837. Why they are mentioned as grandparents is interesting.
When legitimization occurred the birth record would be annotated to that effect. There are no legitimization notes in Escolastica's baptismal record. Here is the link for Elias do Rego marriage to Maria Jacinta, right side. http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-RG-CONCEICAO-C-1801-1831/SMG-RG-CONCEICAO-C-1801-1831_item1/P119.html Their first child, Ana-bottom left http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-RG-CONCEICAO-B-1815-1821/SMG-RG-CONCEICAO-B-1815-1821_item1/P102.html On Tue, Sep 25, 2018 at 8:02 PM Joseph Mendonca <[email protected]> wrote: > Thank you Richard.
