I have been researching my family for over 15 years and have done quite well. I have found all the records on my fathers side and my mother's fathers side in St Michaels and have had them all translated with no problems dating back to the 1700s in some cases. The only problem is i have had no luck in finding my mothers mother ( my grandmother ) My grand father came here to Fall River Ma USA and married Anna Cabral . She was the daughter of Antonio Cabral Silva and Anna Lucianna of St Michaels.. All the records that i have found on her say she was born in St. Michael Azores. My grand father was from Lagoa and from the Parochial church of the Rosary diocese of Angra. On her death certificate here in the usa it says she was born in 1879. I have no one to ask because they have all passed away. My mother never knew her mother for she was three when her mother died i was hoping to find some records on her before my mother passed but that will never be.I looked all over Lagoa but came up with nothing. Any help or ideas where to search ??
