Hi Annie,

The Azores are comprised of 9 islands. You need to narrow down the island
first, then find the village. Everything there is organized by the
freguesia (village).

The Azorean government digitized their records. Many freguesias go to the
year 1911 and a few only go to 1905. The records can be accessed through
Tombo.pt. Click the British flag if you need to navigate in English. None
of this will be useful unless you have a freguesia. It would be like a
European telling you there ancestor was born in the United States. There's
no comprehensive index for that. Most of America is organized on the state
level with New England organized on the town level.

Good luck,
