The act NAXAR is to blow air through the nostrils, NXIYR-AYIM (Job 41: 
(20)12). The root NXR is related to NHR, 'flow, stream', as in NAHAR,  
'river', NHAR-AH, 'shining, flood of light, outpouring of emotions',  
and MI-NHAR-AH, 'cave, tunnel'; and to NGR, 'spill, pour out,  
effuse' (see 2Sam 14:14). What is certain is that NAXAR is only  
apparently onomatopoeic.
