Some of you may have heard about Googles summer of code initiative to
take place over the summer for students to be selected to develop
open source software.

I am a student and am seriously thinking about putting my name
forward but i need a killer app idea to make my application stand out!
As a mac user i was maybe thinking along the lines of a widget that
would incorporate some of the data feeds that backstage offer - the
mapping projects that i have seen on here look very interesting!
The beauty of widgets is that they are essentially a glorified web
page so should have some scope to extend to an area beyond users of
mac OS X Tiger.
more info on widgets: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/dashboard/
If anyone has any ideas then i would love to hear them they do not
necessarily have to be a mac specific application, windows or web
apps are also welcome!
Thanks
David
