Given their hideous track record of making web standards compliance an
optional extra (or just inventing 'standards' to fit their own
application architecture/vision) it shouldn't come as a surprise.
The problem of course is that they don't own the SVG idea or standards,
therefore putting such support into the likes of the office suite would
open up a whole can of IP worms, so they simply choose to dream up
something so kludged and generally awful, it'll probably only be of any
use to anyone knee deep in C#.
