Hello all.
Just to say that we've had a great response to our meet-up invite. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you at the event, and I'm pleased to say a number of my friends and colleagues from around the BBC have signed up too. If you've got a burning techie question you want to ask about the BBC's websites and online projects, then this is as good a chance as any to bend the ear of the people who actually build the sites you use!
If you haven't signed up already, please add your name to the invite at http://benmetcalfe.com/wiki/Backstage.bbc.co.uk_meet-up:London.
We've also had a few emails asking whether the invite is only open to people who have produced something on backstage… Not at all! We know there are many of you who haven't been able to produce anything yet but are still very interested in contributing to backstage.bbc.co.uk. Please come along too - you never know, you might even meet other like-minded folk with whom you could collaborate with to realise your big idea!
Finally, congratulations to Leon Brocard and Leo Lapworth who gave a fantastic presentation at this weekend's London Perl Workshop (http://london.pm.org/lpw/) about how they made their winning backstage project MighTyV.com. Also a big hello to those of you who I met at the event!
If you weren't able to make the event, you can download Leo and Leon's presentation here: http://london.pm.org/lpw/talks/2005/leo_lapworth_and_leon_brocard-mightyv.zip
All the best,
Ben Metcalfe
