Hi Matthew,
No I do not intend to keep attaching my email, I had to switch to this
and completely forgot about the attached details.
The idea I have in mind is of no comparison to the referred link. I
think the idea I mentioned has synergy and would be a novel
presentation. I was also going to suggest on future projects across the
BBC channels to look at theme ideas and to call it something like Pick
and Mix.
If you would like me to put an example together I would be pleased to do
so, but if you have already made up your mind about the future way
ahead, then I will hold fire at this time.
One final note, I have found using unique graphical image names acts as
a signature for search engines to identify and helps them distinguish
the genuine web pages from the spam and passing off pages of opportunists.
Regards,
Alastair

The idea I have on the header is as ever, novel and unique.
Dunstan Orchard did a time-changing header picture many years ago:

His was designed so that it worked at many screen resolutions, you
just saw more or less of the header picture; which is the best way of
doing things, in my opinion. Arguments about 1024px vs 800px width are
just depressing, especially when they mention screen resolution as if
that has anything to do with browser size (my screen resolution is
1600x1200, but my browser maximised only takes up 1244px due to
Trillian and tabs).

I hope some of these ideas help. [snip] The original idea of back stage
was to enhance and create an environment for the collection of minds
in a
pro-active way.
I thought it was to, according to backstage.bbc.co.uk, "encourage
innovation and support new talent" in order to "Build what you want
using BBC content".

seems to be the current place to make comments and suggestions on the
new BBC news site.

Matthew
