I will expand more on the design if required tonight, the 16 pages has
some logic to my insanity in relation to search engine optimization and
positioning the BBC far a head of any competition as the premier News
content provider for the World Wide Web.
I cannot respond at present to any comments in reply to my remarks as my
mail server on Pineapple Blue 1 has been plagued with the mindless,
brain dead of junk mail and I will have to go into the server and dump
these junk files that have been identified on my black server lists.
Just a quickie, following on from the other day, where again rational
opinions were taken to the extreme. Mobile Environments need to be
different. They are not built to carry web pages. I agree web pages can
be displayed but devices more than just a Mobile phone where you are
presented with a display area of no more than around 2" x 2" are not the
norm and I am therefore going to create and refer to the devices as
MCD's (Mobile Communication Devices).
Google search being displayed on Mobile Phones and MCD's can be
displayed obviously, but not portals successfully. Further more, on
Mobile technology even the search environment has to be different. The
search service is a non starter just to bring up results of web page
after web page. The frame work in a Mobile search needs to be title (or
Business), type of service, text no, phone no and email.
To try and apply current web search and web pages to this platform is in
the old saying 'Trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear'. The plus
side to the argument is it opens up a completely new dawn for creativity
and employment. Now existing large search and commercial software
vendors are not going to admit to this scenario as they would be back to
square one again with a new platform and it would be a new and level
playing field for anyone that wants to take their chances.
Over the years I have seen them come and seen them go, please don't fall
for the chapter and verse of what some of these large commercial
entities state, they are stock driven and have to earn money.
