Hi, Aside from wanting to off-handedly mention that it'd be great to have a 'description' field to annotate hosts in the Hosts Editor I moreso wanted to inform others that my problem of how to control mailout for some users and no mailout for others (in a shared workstation scenario) is solved now.
Where I previously used the user field as the mailout 'group' field and moreUsers to control user access, I now use the user field explicitly to manage users that should get mail plus access and leave mailgroups out of it altogether. moreUsers provides the additional access without the mailouts on those names as usual. Managing custom mailgroups was getting unwieldy I must say given the number of people that chose to opt out of post-dump notification mails. Basically, the BackupPC docs don't imply the user field to support a list of users but a quick test proved it is supported for providing access and mailout on those names ... and I'm loving it! That's all, thanks -- Mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Still grepping through log files to find problems?
