*IF* the backup is bandwidth-limited, the first run will take longer than
subsequent runs. How much depends on how bandwidth-limited you are!
When I back up clients over the Internet, the initial backups can take a
*very* long time (more than a week). Subsequent full backups take maybe
3-4 hours.
However, for hosts across a fast LAN, this will not be the most
significant part of your slowdown. Given your network specs, I doubt that
this is it.
