For the first run, pay attention to network utilization. There are no
existing files for BackupPC to do anything with: it's basically absorbing
a bunch of new files. So you are most likely going to be limited by the
speed of the connection--even if it's a Gigabit connection.
For subsequent runs, see my other (very long) e-mail. Examine the CPU
usage (and I/O usage!) of your BackupPC server and see what is limiting
you.
