How much faster? In my experience, the backups are more limited by disk
speed and cpu power than network. But I'm connected to the server via
either AC wifi or wired gigabit, so YMMV.

Be careful that the FIRST backup is always slow because of the full backup
network transfer, but afterwards network use should be minimal for a slowly
changing backup.

but for incrementals, it is not that big issue.


Are you sure? On V4 using rsync (recommended on  Linux) the only difference
between incrementals and fulls is the way the file changes are checked.
There shouldn't be big transfer differences unless you have big files that
change checksum but not size or modification time (wich is the usual case
for encrypted containers).
