Some of the Rsync config parameters are used differently in 4.x. So if you copied the config over you could have some settings that aren't right. What's your value of $Conf{RsyncSshArgs} and $Conf{RsyncArgs}? Please post the full rsync_bpc command from the XferLOG.bad file. Currently running a 3.3.0 server. I configured a few machine for test backups, and I'm getting strange results. For example, if I backup three directories (say /etc, /root, and /var/www I consistently get one of those back as no files dumped. There are definitely files there, as 3.3.0 backs them up just fine. 2020-02-19 13:56:11 Created directory /var/lib/backuppc/pc/website/refCnt 2020-02-19 13:56:11 full backup started for directory /etc 2020-02-19 13:57:12 full backup started for directory /root 2020-02-19 13:57:51 full backup started for directory /var/www 2020-02-19 14:04:18 full backup started for directory /var/lib/pydio 2020-02-19 14:04:31 Got fatal error during xfer (No files dumped for share /var/lib/pydio) 2020-02-19 14:04:36 Backup aborted (No files dumped for share /var/lib/pydio) This is via an rsync backup and happens are more than half my servers, though I seem to be having a similar issue with my one SMB backups as well.
