Hi everyone, I apologize for my long absence. Starting about 5 years ago I got very busy with some other projects, and I haven't been able to spend any time on BackupPC. Over the last 5 years I've mainly been developing in Python, Rust and Go, and I haven't spent any time writing Perl code.
In any case, I appreciate everyone wanting to help maintain BackupPC. While I can't devote time to maintaining it, I can perhaps help from time to time. At a minimum, I'll make an effort to keep up with the mail list, which as you know I haven't been doing for a few years now. I am more than happy to add developers to the existing github repos, so long as they are competent Perl programmers and know how to use github. Some knowledge of C would be good too (for BackupPC::XS and rsync-bpc), but is probably not required. As a first step, someone should review the pending PRs to see if they should be merged...
